Residential Training Details

Duration

The residential course starts at 2pm on a Monday and ends at 2:45pm on a Friday.

Venue

Located in the lovely village of Chapel Brampton, Sedgebrook Hall boasts 13 acres of gardens and stunning grounds. The original manor house dates from 1861 and today has 103 bedrooms and numerous rooms for conferences and events, particularly weddings. Leisure facilities include a gym and pool, easily accessible within the hotel. A really tranquil location for your residential training.

Sedgebrook Hall is only 5 and a half miles from Northampton Railway Station and there is plenty of free parking at the hotel.

Accommodation

Every bedroom has en-suite bathroom facilities with a mixture of showers, baths or both. In every room there are hot drink facilities, a television and free wifi and staff are onsite 24 hours a day.  Your accommodation is included in your course fee.

Meals

The hotel is proud of the reputation of the Tempus Restaurant, which produces fresh food daily using seasonal and local produce. All meals are included in the course fee.

Dietary and other special requirements

We try very hard to accommodate everyone fully on our courses. Please advise us of any dietary or other needs in advance of your course and we will do everything we can to make arrangements for you.

If you have a disability or additional needs that require ground floor accommodation, please let us know as there are some ground floor bedrooms available at the venue.

Joining Instructions
We will send you comprehensive joining instructions in advance of your course. This will include directions and details of anything you need to bring with you.

Please note:

  • Use of a laptop is essential on the course, please call us if you are unable to bring one with you.
  • Courses have a maximum of 14 trainees attending.
  • The training is very popular and early booking is recommended.

        IT Skills you will need both during your training and working as a celebrant

        Do you have the following skills:

        1. Ability in creating, naming, using, saving and retrieving files and folders.
        2. Familiarity with using your version of Word (or similar software).
        3. Understanding of toolbars and icons.
        4. Ability to copy and paste sections of text.
        5. An understanding of ‘track changes’ and how to use this function.
        6. Ability to bold, underline and italicise text.
        7. Be able to change font type, size and colour.
        8. Ability to centre text in the middle of a page and right and left justify it.
        9. Be able to alter line spacing in a document and insert a page break.
        10. Be able to use the undo and redo functions.
        11. Understand how the tab key works.
        12. Ability to use headers and footers, bullet points and numbering
        13. Understanding of the difference between ‘Save’ and ‘Save As’.

        If you said ‘yes’ to all of the above then you have good basic skills.

        If you have answered ‘no’ to any of the above then you will need to improve your basic skills before starting the course. This can be done in a few hours by using one or more of the free online tutorials available on the internet.
