Naming and Couples Training FAQs

We hope you find the information you need easy to find on our website bit here are some additional questions we are frequently asked:

This varies from person to person as it depends on the spare time you have available to study but the average length of time is 8 – 12 weeks.

You do not receive a funding letter until you have been accepted on to the course following our application process.

If you have read our literature, followed our advice and spoken to other Celebrants and you are still drawn to this work, then celebrancy is probably something that you will get huge satisfaction from, and be successful at. There is a huge amount of work involved in the training, but you will find it rewarding and enjoyable.

This is impossible to say. It depends on how good you are, and how much marketing you do so potential clients know you are there. We tell you how to approach this on the course.

There is no guarantee at all, and the course is offered on a pass/fail basis. However, our application process is very thorough, and we are highly experienced in assessing your application form and writing exercise to see whether you possess the skills and attributes to pass the course. If you are accepted onto a course, then we believe that you will be able to achieve the qualification. At the end of your training, if there are weak areas that you need to strengthen, we will offer you the opportunity to retake these. Retake sessions are held online, and a charge is made for each element retaken.  The current pass rate is 98.5% so you can see that we make every effort to help you reach the standard required.

Yes, it is a requirement of the second part of the course for you to stay at the hotel, however local you may live. We start training early in the morning and continue into the evenings on some days. Part of the learning on the course is to be networking with other trainees and tutors.

We do not advise bringing anyone or any pets to the hotel with you. The training is intensive and you do not have spare time to mix with others!

This is of course your choice.  If you want to withdraw from the course, please do let us know. If you have taken out the Advanced Learner Loan, please be aware that you will still be liable for all or part of the Loan. If you are self-funding, we are not able to refund payments once you have received the distance learning workbook.

This is very difficult as the demand for places is always high. There is an admin charge for changing course dates, but it is sometimes possible. Please let us know as soon as possible if a problem arises.

Yes, you will need to set up a website for your new business. We do not cover the details of this in the course as it isn’t a website course, but we will give you information about how to do this and where to start. We do advise that you don’t go too far in setting this up until you have completed your training as your ideas are likely to change.

Yes, you will. We will give you some information about this, but it is not a social media course.  Again, we advise that you wait until after you train before setting this up.

Pretty good! A celebrant spends a great deal of time on a computer writing and amending scripts. Look at this link https://www.civilceremonies.co.uk/skills-naming-and-couples-celebrants-need

This tells you what skills you will need.
