Civil Ceremonies Limited – A Life Changer.

Seven years ago, I was managing a sales team in a busy car dealership.  The work was demanding, frustrating, exciting but to be honest thankless.. I worked seven days a week – loved my colleagues, but that really was it.  No real job satisfaction.

My mind kept drifting back three years to the death of a close friend who asked me to take her funeral – we worked together to make sure it was everything she wanted,  The comfort it gave her family was immeasurable.

This was in 2004.  Very few people knew what a Civil Funeral was.   I did some research on different training companies and found Civil Ceremonies to be a league above all the rest.

Just a few days with Anne Barber and the late Marilyn Watts on their excellent training course, and I felt empowered, equipped and confident enough to decide that this is what I wanted to do more than anything.  I handed in my notice at the car dealership. The rest is history.

Over the next seven years, I conducted over 1500 Civil Funerals in and around Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex..  For the first time in my life I felt truly fulfilled in my working life – I felt that this is what I was meant to do..

However!    Last year I was offered the chance to conduct Civil Weddings and Vow Renewals in Cyprus.. Another life changer!  Another amazing training course with Ann – and here I am, writing this in the sunshine in Argaka near Paphos in between writing a vow renewal ceremony and Skyping a couple about their wedding in June.

Yes.. Civil Ceremonies certainly change lives – I can never thank them enough.
