say.... "I do" again

Important Information about Renewing your Marriage Vows

The Renewal of Marriage Vows Ceremony has no legal effect and is not legally binding on those who participate.

The ceremony does not alter, add or detract from any rights or responsibilities that you already have as a married couple.

These Ceremonies are for couples who wish to celebrate renewing their marriage vows in a unique and personal ceremony.

It is possible for a couple who are already married to each other to marry again in accordance with the law. They may wish to do this because they have reason to doubt the validity of their first marriage or simply because they wish to fulfil the legal preliminaries and requirements of another marriage ceremony. Unlike the Renewal of Marriage Vows ceremony, these ceremonies are legally binding and as such, are not always desirable.

However, if you think that a marriage ceremony in accordance with the law is more appropriate to your needs you can obtain further advice from your local Superintendent Registrar.

Please note that your Marriage Certificate will need to be produced before a Renewal of Marriage Vows Ceremony can be booked.
