Important Information about 'Naming Ceremonies'
Neither the Naming Ceremony nor any document issued as a result of the
Naming Ceremony
has legal status and as such cannot be used to change your child's name.
If it is your intention to change your child's name, we recommend you seek further
legal advice by contacting a local solicitor, the Citizens Advice Bureau, or you can make enquiries at
your local Register Office for further information on how to change your child's name.
Register Office Status
If the Naming Ceremony is held in the Register Office itself,
please note that the Register Office is classified as a 'private venue'
during the Ceremony.
Registrar Status
Members of Register Office staff are designated as 'Celebrants'
when conducting the Naming Ceremony.
Birth Certificate
Please note that the birth certificate must be produced when
booking a Naming Ceremony.
Fees and Deposit
Where our own Celebrants officiate at ceremonies in venues, the fee is £168 (inc. vat).
Our Bespoke Naming Ceremony Service is available for £98 (inc vat),
this cost is for supplying a tailor-made Script and certificate.
If you would like one of our Celebrants to conduct your Bespoke Ceremony the fee is £225
(inc vat), this includes the full bespoke script and certificate.
If you hold your ceremony at home, there is an additional fee of £30 (inc.vat) as your Celebrant is
required to visit you at home beforehand to comply with Heath and Safety requirements.
In areas where we work alongside Local Authorities, the cost of the ceremony varies according to the area,
day and time of the actual ceremony, this is because Local Authorities set their own individual fees for their region.
A deposit is payable on booking.
Other Ceremonies
If you wish to have a religious Ceremony please contact your
local church or religious community.
