Can I include my other Children?
A Naming Ceremony is not just for babies; children of any age can have a
Naming Ceremony. You may wish to include your older children in the Ceremony
as well as your new baby. The Celebrant is on hand to help and will
explain how this can be done.
I am a single parent, how does this affect arranging a ceremony?
It does not affect you at all, we carry out lots of ceremonies for single parents and we adapt the wording to suit your ceremony; sometimes grandparents play a slightly larger role in the ceremony.
I have two children, do I pay two fees?
No, it doesn't matter how many children you would like to be named as part
of the ceremony, you only pay one fee.
Do you have feedback from families who have had ceremonies?
We gather feedback after every ceremony to satisfy requirements of our working standard policies and
we do have some wonderful feedback from families and guests. Here are some below
but if you would like to see some more, click here.
Can we organise a Naming Ceremony at short notice?
Usually the answer to this is yes, but is dependent on the availability
of the Celebrant and venue you have selected.
Where can Ceremonies be held?
A wide variety of venues are available and the Celebrant in the area
you have chosen to arrange your Ceremony will have details of venues available locally.
All venues conform to statutory health and Safety regulations.
How much does a Naming Ceremony cost?
In areas where our Celebrants officiate at ceremonies, the fee is £168 – £198 (inc. vat).
If you hold your ceremony at home, there is an additional fee of £30 (inc. vat) as your Celebrant is
required to visit you at home beforehand to comply with Heath and Safety requirements.
In areas where we work alongside Local Authorities, the cost of the ceremony varies according to the area,
day and time of the actual ceremony, this is because Local Authorities set their own individual fees for their region.

Can we hold a Naming Ceremony at the same time
as we get married?
A Naming Ceremony can be held after the marriage Ceremony has taken place.
You can discuss your requirements with your Celebrant who will be there to advise you.
How long is the Ceremony?
A Naming Ceremony is normally 15 minutes and
up to 30 minutes depending on the number of options and readings chosen.
Can we involve family and friends in the Ceremony?
The Naming Ceremony is the perfect opportunity to declare your promises
to your child before family and friends. It's also the perfect opportunity to involve relatives, such as grandparents,
and maybe other adult friends, as Supporting Adults, allowing them to confirm their special relationship with your
child and share their promises at the ceremony in front of you and the guests.
Can I hold my Ceremony at home?
The answer to this is yes, but there are certain conditions that apply.
Take a look at our 'Guidelines for Ceremonies at Home' policy, this will give you an
idea of the sort of things we will check and you need to consider.
There is an additional charge of £30 (inc vat) as the Celebrant is required to visit your home for health and safety reasons.
Is there a Souvenir Record of the event?
Yes, a souvenir Record is signed during the ceremony
by the parents, supporting adults and the Celebrant.
There are also Certificates available and you can view them
here.
Do Naming Ceremonies have legal status?
Naming Ceremonies are simply
a celebration that you as parents choose to do as a public
gesture of love and commitment to your child.
Unlike birth registration where you receive a copy of the birth certificate, which is a compulsory legal requirement.
The Record of the Ceremony cannot be used as proof of
identification. Neither is the Ceremony legally binding on those who
take part in it.
