Having a Civil Partnership Ceremony

The legal aspects of Civil Partnerships are laid out in the Civil Partnership Act and couples can arrange a ceremony to compliment the signing of the register, either through Local Authorities or through ourselves.

What to do if you want to have a Civil Partnership Ceremony

  • Think about where you want to hold the legal Civil Partnership procedure. You will have to arrange this through a Register Office or with a venue approved for Civil Partnerships.

  • Decide what sort of ceremony you want to have, will this be on the same day? On a different day? At the same place as the official Civil Partnership procedure or at a different location?

  • In most areas, a Registrar can conduct both the legal Civil Partnership procedure and the ceremony for you.

  • If you would prefer to hold the legal formalities at the Register Office or a venue approved for Civil Partnership, you can decide to arrange a Partnership Ceremony with us, at any venue of your choice.
