Who is the course for
This course is a follow – up one day training for those who have successfully completed the Civil Funeral residential training and are conducting Civil Funerals. The course will not only cover the Scattering of Ashes and Memorial Ceremonies, it will also provide a general update for new Celebrants.
What we expect you to gain from the course:
Delegates will learn to:
- Sensitively interview bereaved relatives to obtain relevant information for this short ceremony.
- Effectively translate the information gained to a short, well-written, accurate ceremony to accompany the scattering procedure.
- Confidence in creating and organising appropriate memorial ceremonies

- Conducting scattering ceremonies
- Constructing ceremonies, including poetry and readings,
- Constructing Memorial Ceremonies
- Practical exercises in ceremony construction
- Civil Funeral update
Course materials
Delegates will receive a comprehensive training manual containing example ceremonies and suggested poems and readings.
