Who is the course for?
This course is designed for registration staff who are about to deliver marriage ceremonies
for the first time, or who wish to develop their skills in this area.
Please note: It is recommended that this course is attended in conjunction with our courses on
Marriage Registration and Taking of Marriage Notices.
What we expect you to gain:
At the end of the course delegates will be able to:
- Describe the process for dealing with a marriage ceremony effectively and legally.
- Carry out their role in relation to marriage ceremonies demonstrating good customer care and confident in their legal responsibilities.
- Deliver a professional marriage ceremony with confidence.

- The duties of a Deputy Superintendent registrar
- Issuing the Certificates for Marriage
- Before the Marriage ceremony
- The Marriage Ceremony
- Enhancements to the Marriage ceremony
- Presentation of the Marriage ceremony and dealing with some of the issues that
may arise on the day
