How is a Commitment Ceremony created?
Every Commitment Ceremony is unique.
Working within the Ceremony framework, couples create their own
unique celebration by selecting words, poems and readings that hold a
special meaning for them. The venue, number of guests and
involvement of other guests are also chosen by the couple,
creating, in all, a very meaningful and personal experience.
How to arrange a Commitment Ceremony
Simply call us on 0845 0048 608 (calls charged at local call rate) or email us at
ceremonies@civilceremonies.co.uk and we
will explain the choices available and discuss arrangements.
A meeting will be set for you and the Celebrant to meet and discuss
your requirements and also to receive an information pack.
The pack contains the Ceremony framework and choices that will
enable you to plan the Ceremony in detail, the Celebrant is there to offer advice
and guidance to help you also.
It is often a good idea to hold the meeting at the venue you have chosen; if you have not selected a venue at that
stage, you and the Celebrant can arrange a mutually suitable location and this can be at your
home or at the Register Office, if the local authority in your area is offering ceremonies.
Do think carefully about who you would like to invite, think
about the words you will say to one another and whether you
wish to exchange rings and /or gifts. The ceremony can be tailored
to suit your needs, making this a very special and memorable occasion,
so do take time to consider your choices.
How much does a Commitment Ceremony cost?
In areas where our Celebrants officiate at ceremonies, the fee is £168 – £198 (inc. vat).
If you choose to hold your ceremony at home, there is an additional fee of £30 (inc. vat) as your Celebrant is
required to visit you at home beforehand to comply with Heath and Safety requirements.
